About Valyke

Start with what you are trying to do.

Valyke is a people-powered place for turning a real need, offer, or idea into useful conversation and measurable progress.

The simple flow

From a clear thought to the right people.

Valyke keeps public discovery and private coordination close together. You can share openly, find people who understand the context, and continue privately when there is real work to do.

  1. 01

    Share what is happening

Create an Intent when you want progress around a goal, need, or offer. Use an Update when you simply want to share what is happening with you.

  2. 02

    Relevant people respond

People can comment, react, offer help, show interest, or begin a conversation when they have something useful to add.

  3. 03

    Continue in the right conversation

Use Intent Chat to work on a particular Intent, or Focused Chat for a direct conversation that is not tied to a post.

  4. 04

    Turn conversation into progress

Coordinate the next step, bring in other helpful people when needed, and resolve an Intent when someone has genuinely helped.

Intents

A clear statement of progress you want to make.

An Intent tells the community what you are trying to accomplish and gives relevant people enough context to respond usefully. It is more purposeful than a normal status post.

I need help

Use this when you have a goal, question, obstacle, or task and want someone to help you move forward. Other people will see Offer help.

I can assist

Use this when you have useful experience, time, or an offer that could help others. People who want to take part will see I’m interested.

How to create an Intent

  1. 01

From Home, select “What’s your intent now?” or use the central Create action.

  2. 02

Choose whether you need help or can assist with something.

  3. 03

Describe the goal, offer, context, or challenge in your own words.

  4. 04

Optionally mention someone, add a photo or video, use an emoji, or add relevant skills.

  5. 05

Post it. Media can continue uploading while you use the rest of Valyke.

Skills are optional. When you leave them out, Valyke can suggest relevant skills from the content you shared.

Updates

Share what is happening without asking for help.

An Update is a social post about your day, work, progress, location, thoughts, or something worth sharing. It does not have an open-help or resolved state.

People can react, comment, reply to comments, follow the author, and continue the conversation. Mentions and tags notify the people included in the Update.

How to create an Update

  1. 01

From the Home composer, select Update.

  2. 02

Share what is happening, what you are doing, or where you are.

  3. 03

Optionally add a photo or video, location, emoji, mentions, or tag followers.

  4. 04

Post it to your activity feed so people can react, comment, and reply.

Conversations

Intent Chat and Focused Chat serve different moments.

Comments help a public post develop. Chat is where people can coordinate privately. The right chat depends on whether that conversation belongs to an Intent.

Intent Chat

Purpose
Coordinate help, interest, or progress around one specific Intent.
How it starts
Someone chooses Offer help or I’m interested on an Intent.
Context
The Intent stays connected, so participants know what the conversation is trying to move forward.
People
It can begin one-to-one and become an Intent Circle when more useful people are added.

Focused Chat

Purpose
Have a direct conversation that does not need an Intent attached to it.
How it starts
You find a person from the Chats tab, search by name or username, or begin from their profile.
Context
The conversation stands on its own and can cover any appropriate topic.
People
It is suited to a private member-to-member discussion. Separate non-Intent circles can also be created.

Real people. Real help. Real progress.

You do not need a perfect post. Start with one honest sentence.

Tell people what you are trying to do, or share what is happening. The right format becomes clearer once you begin.
